IMEDIR Center has been working on the development of systems for the storage of medical images. The experiments that were carried out in collaboration with several sanitary institutions allowed us to determine the connectivity requirements for an optimal performance of the system. Knowing the characteristics of network traffic, the already existing analysis and network design methodologies, and the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) technology, needed for the connection to our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) this work proposes a new and personalized methodology for the implantation of DICOM PACS in a hospital.
